It is with tremendous excitement we release a new trailer about an upcoming documentary film featuring our work here at Barefoot College.

The film is part of our three year partnership with Hogan Lovells to empower women and girls around the world through our work. Filming took place with our solar mamas in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Zanzibar and India. This sweeping view captures the extended Barefoot community across the global South. We are a diverse, wonderful family and the women featured on the film will be an inspiration to all who see it.

As an organisation with 45 years of work by and for the ultra poor, we appreciate that The UN Sustainable Development Goals start with a most ambitious one: No Poverty. But it is important to remember that these goals end with perhaps the most important step to achieve this goal, and the others as well: Goal Number 17: Partnerships in Action. “Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development,” the goal states.

This critical goal is the backbone of our global initiative with Hogan Lovells, as captured in this upcoming documentary. As Hogan Lovells Partner Adrian Walker says, “You need to work in great partnerships with people doing incredible things.”

This is the key to change. Systemic change comes with the combined energy of many.
