We’ve Partnered with Instilt for Online Learning Team Support
Fulfilling partnerships is a key ingredient for amplifying impact and boosting the opportunities made available to beneficiaries. More can be achieved when groups collaborate on aligned initiatives. Thus, we are pleased to share that we have partnered with Instilt Educate, a fellow nonprofit that provides free online learning and tutoring to underprivileged students. They are providing our global staff with English classes to help them enrich their language capacities.
Aligning our Missions to Spread Free Education
Since our inception, Barefoot College International’s primary mission has been to promote prosperity and autonomy to marginalized communities of the Global South. We believe this fostering of prosperity is best achieved through accessibility to education. That’s why each of our regionally tailored vocational programs are designed with meaningful education in mind. Extending this to our dedicated staff thanks to Instilt Educate benefits our team greatly.
Instilt Educate is an international online learning nonprofit dedicated to providing equal opportunities for everyone and levelling the playing field for underprivileged people. They’re volunteer-run and have provided services to 38 cohorts of students so far. In addition to teaching school-aged children and adults, they also train teachers, further supporting English learning in classrooms and building long-term capacity.
Online Learning: A Step Toward Knowledge Equity
Instilt Educate operates mainly in India and has expanded to serve countries including Sri Lanka, Senegal, Madagascar, and Guatemala. They currently have 3,000 students and around 250 tutors from across the globe. Classes are held weekly via Zoom and employ an interactive learning approach, boosting students’ confidence and independence over the long term.
The key goal of our partnership with Instilt Educate is to eliminate barriers to English learning in underserved communities globally, as a foundational step toward equity and economic mobility. Many of our staff come from countries where English is not commonly spoken, and their access to learning the language has been limited. With Instilt Educate’s online English tutoring, these barriers have been significantly reduced, creating a more effective and accessible learning environment for our team. This initiative aligns with our broader mission to promote language access, foster education, and empower individuals toward economic independence.
Instilt Educate is a not-for-profit organization whose operations depend on the generosity of its supporters. They’re also planning a fundraising campaign next month to provide laptop donations to their students that will support their education.
